What is WISTEM?

✩ Women in STEM (WISTEM) is a club aimed to create a welcoming environment for women and gender non-conforming individuals to learn about Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), and partake in STEM-related activities!

✩ WISTEM aims to learn about different topics of STEM and apply them in creative, fun, and innovative ways. Oftentimes, we participate in hands-on activities organized by fellow students. Trust us, it will be a fun time.

Do I have to be a woman to join?

✩ No, our club is meant to be a supportive space for women AND gender-non-conforming individuals. But, in order to be successful in that goal, women and GNC need allies in the STEM fields as well. By inviting all genders and backgrounds into our club, we hope to provide an inclusive and positive environment where those interested in STEM can be treated equally and help empower each other to succeed.

• To that end, all forms of harassment are strictly prohibited. Students reported engaging in behaviors that make other members feel unsafe to risk being permanently expelled from the Women in STEM Club and its hosted events.

Why should I join?

✩ WISTEM is an excellent opportunity to pursue an interest in STEM without the judgment of peers. Our priority is to have a safe and welcoming environment. Even if STEM is not a major interest, we offer leadership and volunteer opportunities, snacks, and connections to peers and figures in STEM fields.
